Our Process—How We Can Work with You
At Prologue, we understand your business intimately. As editors and designers who have managed successful, multimillion-dollar imprints; edited a wide range of nonfiction, fiction, and mixed media book projects; and created award-winning dust jackets and internals, we’ve been there—and done that—before. We know what needs to be done to finish a job well and on time.

Our team of professionals works together to provide you expertise, flexibility, and quality control so that you never miss another deadline.

  1. Contact us to speak with a Prologue representative. We’ll ascertain your needs and learn what deadlines you have. From long-term projects to last-minute, need-to-have-it-yesterday jobs, from ghostwriting and manuscript development to research and fact-checking, we have the skills and expertise to fit your needs.

  2. Based on your unique specifications, we’ll fill out a job order and send copies to you and to the employee or employees involved.

  3. Once the job is completed, one of our principals will studiously review the work for quality assurance.

  4. Your Prologue representative will deliver the completed project to you in the format requested. Your rep then will follow up with you to ensure that all your needs have been met.
Our desire is to help you meet your deadlines with perfect projects. As a company built on creating and maintaining good relationships, we’ll work hard to earn your business now and in the future. Please talk to your representative about the time- and money-saving options available in the variety of ongoing working relationships you can have with Prologue.

We can accommodate a variety of working arrangements:

  • Editing onto hard-copy manuscripts or page layouts;

  • Editing in word processing and/or page layout files (e.g., any Microsoft Word-compatible word processing program, QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign);

  • Delivering press-ready computer files of jackets and internals in editable (QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, etc.) or non-editable (eps, pdf, etc.) formats.
